How to Lose Tummy Fat
For many years this has been a dieters problem. Other than starving yourself or working out non-stop is it possible to lose your stomach fat.� Can you shrink your belly with out over losing weight in other areas?
Dieters used to believe that crunches and sit-ups would help reduce the belly fat. Unfortunately targeting a certain area to lose fat is a myth, and this myth has been put to rest.� Reducing tummy fat is not possible without reducing overall fat percentage. But it is definitely possible to lose fat and make your tummy look flatter with the right combination of food and motion.
Fat Fighting Foods
Some foods promote extra baggage around the middle, and others reduce tummy fat. It's not just a matter of how much you eat; the types of foods you eat can also have a drastic effect on your waistline.
Some foods that we eat for example contain un-natural chemicals within the food which in turn puts stress on the body. Two of the more popular items that can act as stimulants are Nicotine and Caffeine. These substances can increase your heart rate and blood pressure. When these vital signs go up, our bodies take it as a sign of danger. Our bodies hang on to the extra calories by storing them as stomach fat automatically.
That's because our bodies produce a stress hormone called cortisol.Cortisol is responsible for extra fat storage, particularly around the waist.The fat caused by cortisol can be extremely dangerous and has been linked to heart disease, cancer and diabetes.
Our bodies produce insulin in order to utilize glucose.The problem can get worse when the insulin is produced. Even when our blood glucose levels are low or normal sweet flavors can trigger a release of insulin, which is a reason that people report feeling hungrier after eating food that contains artificial sweeteners.The insulin brings down the blood glucose level, which in turn makes us super hungry. This leads to excessive eating, and accumulation of belly fat.
To reduce tummy fat the best foods to help with this are the ones that do not trigger a flood of insulin, and also do not throw your body into a preservation mode. These include nutritious, slowly digestible foods like whole grain breads and pastas, lean meat or tofu, whole nuts, olive oil, fibrous vegetables and fruits and avocados.
Switch to green tea if you are not able to give up your coffee. Tea contains whats called phytonutrients which gives you a lots of other healthy benefits such as faster metabolism and it has enough caffeine to give you that perk similar to coffee.
Reduce the Tummy Fat with These Exercises
Our diet is just one part of the weight loss equation. The other is exercise. Focusing on just the tummy fat is not possible but, strength training and cardio would be the closest thing to it since this will cut down your overall body fat percentage. You can work your stomach muscles while in the weight losing phase so that your six pack will eventually emerge as the fat goes away.
The cardio exercise you do doesn't really matter; you can go for a jog, take a brisk walk, swim, pick up some cardio classes at your local gym or martial arts. Primarily you should pick an activity that you like doing and something that you can stay interested in for at least three to five times a week. The pounds will start to vanish while Your heart health will improve - even around your mid section.
Strength training is important for fat-burning, too. The bigger amount of muscle you have the more calories that your body can burn and in turn the less fat it stores. The best thing to do will be to find a strength regimen that you can do for a minimum of 30 minutes 3 times a week. An ideal routine targets different muscle groups on different days.For example, you could work your biceps and shoulders on Monday, Cardio on Tuesday, triceps and back on Wed, Cardio on Thursday, and Legs on Friday.
Always stay hydrated during your work out ( you might want to think about a recovery drink) and take time between sets and reps.Your body won't burn fat as efficiently if you don't drink enough fluids. The rule of thumb is generally drink 8 (8 oz) glasses of water per day.
